We chatted afterwards about the battle, so I had some feedback from the others on "things we should have done". When I sat down to write this, I figured there were a couple of things that should be standard to a Battle Report: 1) Description of forces, 2) List of rule options/deviations used 3) Battle summary (not sure how detailed this should get) 4) Some description of tactics used 5) Some first-hand analysis of events and tactics which probably would have worked better. Unfortunately, it was getting late and I had to get home, so it was a bit rushed. (we've been playing in one of the conference rooms where I work - after hours, of course!) > The big advantages to the Centauri force here are the superior acceleration, > and the number of targets. Well, since our third person was late, only one person was controlling all the Centauri for quite a while, and that bogged things down a bit. That many ships are definitely hard to juggle, PLUS Centauri player #1 hadn't fully worked out his battle plan since he was expecting Centauri #2 to be there. :) On top of that, we were using the original Jammer rules - two of us hadn't seen the modification on the Minbari which Robert had posted about only halving the fighter offensive ratings and allowing targetted ships to get better targetting on the Sharlin. Our delinquent was the one who'd seen that. (But that's OK, since he was on the losing Centauri side, anyway... ) Both of those rules would have shifted things a little bit - but given that even the Minbari player rarely had more than 1 point in targetting EW, I don't think it would have made much difference. (I think that post must've been back when I lost several weeks worth of messages when my email system dumped and I hadn't had a chance to read through them all. *sigh*) Jamie Coleman jcoleman@a2t.com Application Engineer, Ann Arbor Technologies
