Since we're talking about posting some of these, I figured "What the heck!" Also.. I did a little reorganizing of my email and I've now got a folder where I'm dumping battle summaries posted, as well as ship designs and scenarios. I'm not going to run a website for them, but I'll stockpile them. :) (note: this is from about a month or so ago. It's using the rules as-is from the book - i.e. no drop-out - EXCEPT for doing the pulse weapons # of hits like the Flight to-hit chart. And I don't recall if we were using Fire Sequencing). ----------- OK, we started out with a G'Quan and two flights of Frazi vs. a Primus w/ 2 flights of Sentris. I fired off two battle lasers on the first turn, at a range of 27 and had a to hit of 8 (pretty good odds for that range!). Missed on both. The G'Quan fired off two e-mines, but both exploded harmlessly. Second turn: we came in almost in line, both my Sentris came in on the port flank of the G'quan. I rolled quite well, blew away both of the G'Quan's heavy lasers with the Primus. He rolled *terribly* and blew away one of my twins. His two Frazi were taking shots at my Sentris. No net effect on the Sentris (one was almost dead, another partially injured). Not much significant damage from them to the G'Quan. Rather disgruntled with the effect of Flight fire on Flights. One hex range, and my Sentris were just ignoring the Frazi. I wasn't even jinking. Third turn. Continued along. Fired 3 twins at G'Quan, and both Centris at it. Then 2 twins each at the flights of Frazi's. Marginal damage to G'Quan, took out one Frazi, one other lightly damaged. One Frazi fired at the Primus, same hex but slipped in from the side (side shot), took out a battle laser, a scratch on the thruster, and rest dumped into structure. The G'Quan and the other Frazi tore into one flight of Centris. Ended up taking out 4 fighters, scratched the paint on a fifth. One of the ones lost was the almost dead one. We ended it there. This one may have gone differently depending on the fighter usage. Dunno. But Primus definitely has significant edge over the G'Quan. Didn't help that i rolled hot the second turn and Daryl didn't. (well, it did help, but not to even things up!). Anyways, the G'Quan had definitely been bloodied, losing both it's main weapons, plus about 4 or so minor ones. The Primus was barely scratched - 1 twin array (of 8) and 1 battle laser (of 4). I think it would have been much more painful for the Primus if the Frazi had gone after it, with their firepower. We'll see next time. ----------- Like I said, this was a while back. The Narn tried to focus on taking out the Sentris, while the Sentri pilots had received some testosterone injections or something just before the fight. So their roles were switched from the expected. The die rolling played a big part in the battle, and the G'Quan had its teeth pulled fairly quickly. We replayed this one at a later time, and things went quite a bit better for the Narn (The Centauri were using defective experimental tactics then!) - jamie coleman ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ivanova's rule #34: Always make sure that whatever looks dead, stays dead, and will not have any ideas about not being dead at any time in the foreseeable future.
