An effective tactic I've found is to a t the beginning of the turn 1) attempt to determine where the enemy ship is likely to be (always a good idea anyway). 2) From the most likely possibilities figure out a good future position for your fighters that will allow them to attack the enemy best 3) (this is the important one) use your e-mines to screen that fighter position. With a couple of Gquan's I've effectively created a near circle of adjacent mine effects. When the fighters move, plant them inside the semi circle (out of blast radius of course) Any Sentries that move in for the kill will likely either attempt to close to short range, putting them in the e-mine alley, or (after they've seen this a few times) try to stay outside of the emines making them take ineffective long range shots. Or they go somewhere else and leave the Frazi alone... One time after having done this in two seperate games and slaughtering many centauri pilots, I clumped my Frazi in a typical "I'm hiding in my Emine ring" position. This time the Sentry didn't fall for it and went for my ships. Imagine his frustration when he discovered, There was no emine ring and all my emines were flanking the damaged ship he was trying to attack Get a fleet of emines and you can effectively force youre opponent to go where YOU want him...if he does you have the advantage...if he doesn't he goes BOOM:-) 5 G'quans throwing around 10 emines.... Of course, I lost 1 game due to an unfortuneate mine scatter result...so its not without its risks.
