We have been introducing the ships of the month to the game, and whilst finding the Mimbari and Centauri quite hard, things have seemed reasonably balance for a 50 hex map. Two battles that cropped up over the weekend were as follows: 1 Tanashi, 1 flight of Nials vs 3 flights of Starfuries (1 Elite), 2 Omegas 1 Tanashi, 1 flight of Nials vs 8 flights of Frazis, 4 G'Quans Not all the players playing are of equal skill, but this is the way the battles went. Mimbari vs Earth Omegas went defensive, and charged, Tanashi delayed firing, and then did a small amount of damage. As Omegas got close, I started the Tanashi moving to avoid them. More Fire, Omegas minorly damaged. Fighters from Omegas attack and due to bad dice rolls, and full defence from Tanashi, they scratch the primary and front end, and lose 5 of their number, the nials doing the bulk of the damage. So far apart from the Nials doing quite a lot of damage to the Starfuries no major damage has been done. Mimbari got bored (me) so I did a close pass, the omega I attacked lost it's front end, and after I flew by the Tanashi lost most of it's rear. The Tanashi pivoted and backed of firing all it's NC's (they weren't hit) and doing more damage, Earth bugged out with the remaining Starfuries. Mimbari vs Narn Mimbari went on immediate scatter, but the Narn Emine barrage got lucky and damaged the Nials, effectively neutralizing their potential. The Tanashi damaged the front end of a G'Quan. The Narn started a full attack run, the Nials attacked the damaged G'Quan, along with the Tanashi. The G'Quan lost half it's front and a third of it's side, and the Tanashi and Nials were eliminated. In both scenarios the Mimbari forces were heavily outnumbered and the Narn were lucky, and the Earth unlucky. We found that the Tanashi could almost make itself unhitable but Emines are great. In conclusion, we felt the Tanashi was cheap but vunerable to fighters. As a support ship for a kitted Sharlin it was excellent value. All the sides decided that they wanted to buy the Narn Emines and have ships that could use them, and that they were very powerful. You need a certain amount of luck with Emines, but if you have enough G'Quans, you can start to factor the luck element out of the game. Rich
