Centauri decide to send in a "response force" Setup: Raider Battlewagon and 2 flights of Deltas vs 2 Centauri Darkners. Rules: 1 E in a pretty much tourney setup. Summary: Darkners were able to maintain speed 12 and keep distance open for the most part against the speed 6 Battlewagon. Superior EW and range and mobility made the difference. The 12 deltas were on the darkners as of turn 3 and every turn thereafter. After 8 turns... one darkner was missing a rear section, the battlewagon was missing front, and had severely damaged sides on both sides and the primary had taken over half structure losses. With all hangar boxes destroyed, the Raider fighters surrendered and the Wagon followed suit. Skipping most of battle description,,, it basically boiled down to speed 6 vs speed 12 and the fighters playing rear snipers...and having trouble keeping up with the darkners. Suggestions: under 1E rules... the battlewagon is probably overpriced... suggest the following changes...EW goes to 6 as it makes little sense to have raider with EW superior to some Narn and Some EA warships of the line. .. Fighters go to 18 or whatever it takes to get to the show...and BPV ~500... General agreement that except for the ew... the battlewagon is very much what a raider ship would seem to be. Th-th-thats all... -- End --
