You're quite right - problem with Centauri ships is they all seem to have jump engines. How's this for an explanation: The jump engines on the Altarians were removed so that the Q-40 could be used on newer warships being constructed. The Primuses jump engine was destroyed by the same Drakh-controlled saboteur that revealed the Admiral's plans to the Regent (he was captured an executed before the fleet jumped in). Actually, let's make this more interesting. AFTER the Admiral decides which ship he is initially on, roll 1d6. 1-3 the jump engine on the Octurion is destroyed. 4-6 the Primus loses it.
