Let me know what you all think. Wraith * * * * * * * * * * Desperate Decision: A Scenario for B5 WARS For 2-4 players BACKGROUD: During the Earth/Minbari War, as things began to look bad for Earth, Earth Force Military began looking for any way with which they could harm the Minbari and their advance through Earth Controlled space. One such operation included the launching of a number of spy satellites into Minbari controlled space, in the hopes of learning of something that could halt the Minbari in their tracks. On one occasion a spy satellite appeared to discover something and was relaying its information back to its support ships when it suddenly reported a threat coming towards it in the form of a number of Minbari combat vessels. Moments after this the satellite went dead as its transmission was jammed. From the information it had relayed it was quickly calculated that the support ships might be able to jump in close enough to recover the satellite before the Minbari arrived. The captain decided to take a chance, and went in. PLAYER #1 (Earth) - 1 Hyperion Heavy Cruiser w/ 6 Aurora Starfury Heavy Fighters, 1 Oracle Scout Cruiser, & 2 Olympus Corvettes PLAYER #2 (Minbari) - 1 Tigara Attack Cruiser w/ 6 Nial Heavy Fighters, 2 Tinashi War Frigates SET UP: Map: ABC DEF Note: Map may float if necessary Minbari Player sets up ships with: Tinashi #1 at 0202, facing 3, speed 9 Tigara at 0302, facing 3, speed 9 Tinashi #2 at 0401, facing 3, speed 9 Nials in Hanger may not launch till end of turn 2 Earth Force Player jumps into hex 3727, facing 1, speed 6 (Choose which ships forms jump point). Starfuries may be deployed. There is a Satellite counter at 2715, facing 3, speed 2 (It continues on its path until stopped) Consider any shot that hits destroys it w/ defense values of 1/1 (very small.) VICTORY CONDIITONS: Earth - Recover Satellite and get out. Its information may be very important to the war effort. Bonus Victory: Recover Satellite and decidedly win battle. Minimal Loss: Destroy Satellite if in Minbari hands and unrecoverable. Minbari - Recover Satellite and remove the Earth Forces either through their retreat or their destruction. The Warrior Cast is very interested in what the humans are attempting to discover with these new spy satellites. Minimal Loss: Destroy Satellite if in Earth possession and unrecoverable. SPECIAL RULES: Blocking Shots: During the course of the game, it may be deemed necessary to put one of you ships in between the satellite and an enemy that wishes to destroy it. This is called blocking the enemy's fire. To do so the following conditions must be met. The ship blocking must have a large defense value than the object being blocked (EA w/o interceptors/e-web) The ship blocking must be in the same hex as the object being blocked The enemy ship being blocked must be in the appropriate arc of the blocking ship (see below) If the above conditions are met the ships can block incoming shots from other ships toward another object, by taking them on itself. The ship that is doing the blocking must chose an arc to block on. Chose on side of the ship, Forward, Aft, Port or Starboard. (Port and Starboard being optimum with 120 degree arcs.) Any enemy ship in the arc calculates its to hit number with a negative modifier equal to the defensive rating of the side that the blocking ship presents. Intercept fire may lower the to hit number if applicable. If the enemy hits, it fires past the blocking ship and hits its target. If it misses but by less that the defensive value of the blocking ships side, it hits the blocking ship as normal. If it missed by more than the defensive value of the blocking ship's side, it misses both completely. OPTIONS: Try giving the Earth Force an extra Hyperion and 6 Starfuries, while removing an Olympus.
