Current Story: Strange radio transmissions have been detected coming from the middle of this asteroid field. All indications point to vorlon technology. Background Story: 50 Earth years ago, a vorlon scout ship was scouting this region of space, entered the asteroid field, got over-loaded by the strange radiation from the asteroids and lost control, crashing into an asteroid where it lies still. Goal: To retrieve the remains of the ship. Each race sends an expiditiary fleet of ships to check it out, and just all happen to arrive at the same time. Details: o Start with the ships on different sides of the asteroid field. o The strange radiation prevents any ship for using is sensors to lock onto any other ship. Double Range penalties apply. You can still use EW to add to the shot, but the penalty still applies. o You cannot fire through a hex containing an asteroid. Assume they are big and massive for weapons fire to effect) o The races are only sending small expidititary groups to check it out, so keep the total point value to 1500-1700 points, or whatever seems appropriate. Once inside the asteroid field, things could get crowded if too many ships are present. o If within the 1 hex radius of any single asteroid, sensors will NOT work at all. So make sure to place the asteroid assymetrically around to vary the field. o If within the 1 hex radius of two asteroid (two asteroid's field's overlap), roll for criticals on all non-primary systems (weapons, intercepters, etc). Roll a d10, add armor value of that system, if result is 8 or less, it is inoperative until brought out of that radius. I want to test this scenario with my group, maybe if someone else is willing to try it and let me know how it goes. Optional Addition: The ship locations could be kept secret (a referee would be needed) and the ships only detect each other upon direct view within 10 hexes. The Sensors line-of-sight doesn't go through an asteroid. -Chad Wilson _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
