Elvin "Elvis" Montoya

Halfling Thief Swordmaster

Specializing in Reconnaissance and Acquisition

Elvin is a Halfling urban entrepreneur.   He is a highly skilled thief and spy, as halflings tend to be.   He is  a master of the sword, and deadly accurate with the bow.  His righteous indignation and tendency to bore quickly tend to get him into some interesting situations, and is also a devout follower of the halfling god of thieves.

His Assets include Size, Skill, Speed, and Stealth, in alphabetical order.   What, size?  An asset?  Surely!  Being small, he is often not considered a threat by the enemy until it is too late for them.  His skill, particularly with the sword, makes him a difficult opponent to fight.  He hits often, accurately, and himself is quite difficult to hit and one might find one's own blow turned against oneself.  That "one" would not be the halfing in question, of course.   He is a speedy little guy, and leaves other short-legged folk, such as dwarves, eating his dust when he is in a hurry.  Also this is a very good asset to have when one needs to expedite departing his current location.  Lightly armored and mobile, he is also very quiet when doing so.   Reconniassance and Acquisition is better performed unobserved.

Elvin has aspirations to lead and to rule.  He thinks he is near the top of the loosly organized resistance to keep the Southern Continent free from Northern opressors.  These are your basic delusions of grandeur.  He thinks he is pretty high in social status because of his connections in the cities of Arrabar and Mirzapur.   The fact that he gets little respect for this status he explains that he has a (racial) desire (compulsion) to stay in the background and unnoticed by the masses.

Because he is easily the most friendly and outgoing member of the party, he makes a natural leader and is held in high regard by his companions, even if they don't always listen to his suggestions.  He makes a good negotiator and information gatherer among the common people because his methods are often less, ah, brutal, than those of his companions.  Of course, sometimes circumstances dictate that he defer this role to another member of the group.

His place in history is secure, his marks will be made, and he is sure to be forgotten shorly after his death.
