The Phoenix Suns – Message to Channing Frye
I did not anticipate doing another article on the Phoenix Suns until preseason started with the news regarding the health of Channing Frye and felt that it was proper to extend my well wishes to him.
For those that may not know, Channing was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, which is an enlarged heart in that condition will put him on the sidelines indefinitely. The doctors are telling us that they expect Cheney to make a full recovery but it will be several months before Channing’s status could change.
Use one of those times that cause us to step back and realize that Channing just as a pro basketball player but he is a young man that has a serious condition. I am thankful that the staff at the Phoenix Suns recognized this condition in time before something worse could happen.
I believe the Suns will make some sort of an effort to replace Channing for the short-term but big men are at a premium especially those that have three-point range. But that’s a minor site point any overall scheme of things because we’re talking about a young man’s life.
So at this point I would like to say to Channing that you are in our prayers and we hope that you have a speedy recovery and things work out correctly. I truly am thankful that the medical staff with the Phoenix Suns were able to diagnosis and catch it at a time before something drastic happened. There have been cases of this that did not turn out real well and cost players their lives. This is just one of those examples in life that make you step back and reevaluate what is truly important.
