Project Linus

This is my pet charity, I am the local contact for it here in Ann Arbor, MI. We supply afghans and other handmade blankets to children in the pediatric oncology ward of Mott's Childrens Hospital (part of the University of Michigan hopital). We have a variety of donors, from all over the state, and the kids are very apreciative of our efforts.

Some of the patients are Infants and todlers, while others are in their teens, so the needs and wants are very different. We try to satisfy all of them.

Acceptable donations are as follows:

--40*60" blankets for the children who are about age 5 and up (afghans/quilts, cross stitched blankets).
--baby blankets in pastel colors for the infants
--crib size blankets in any color scheme for the toddlers
--6" squares to be sewn into afghans by volunteers
--acrylic yarn to be used by volunteers to make afghans, or to sew squares together.
--material to be used by quilters in making quilts for the children.
