Three Axis Gantry Control Module #30540
The Three Axis Gantry Control Module contain one 60mm wide conveyor belt.
This module simulates the operation of an overheard grantry crane. Three
dimensional movements along the X, Y, & Z axis allow for the immediate
visibility of programmed action and faciliates program testing. Two outer
longitudinal beams carry the X axis slide onto which is mounted the Y and
Z axis. An gripper mounting at the bottom of the Z axis to grib the part
block. A limit switch indicates the open or closed position of the gripper.
After the part has been detected by a limit switch at the bottom of the
Z axis the gripper is closed and then the part can be moved on to the conveyor
belt or off the conveyor belt and back to one of four storage positions
in the module. Each storage position can hold a stack of four part high.
The module part storage total is therefore 16 parts. Positional feedback
is provided by limit switchs, and an infrared sensor is used to detect if
a part is in place. Infrared sensors located at the start and at the end
of the conveyor belt are used to detect a part entering or leaving the module.
This module can be used to replace Module #30543 Raw Material Bins or Module
#30549 Finished Goods Bins.
Note: If this module is used with any of the assembly modules #30538,
#30541, and #30554 you have to remove the washer and ball bearing before
unloading from the conveyor belt. A special module assembly can be made to do
this operation upon request.
